BHU study: Pollution in Ganga has decreased by 25% to 30% during lockdown
Pollution of the Ganges - Wikipedia
Nano and colloidal particles 1— nm play important roles in phosphorus P migration and loss from agricultural soils; however, little is known about their relative distribution in arable crop soils under varying agricultural geolandscapes at the regional scale. Surface soils 0—20 cm depth were collected from 15 agricultural fields, including two sites with different carbon input strategies, in Zhejiang Province, China, and water-dispersible nanocolloids 0. The nanocolloidal fraction correlated with organic carbon Corg and calcium Ca , and the fine colloidal fraction with Corg, silicon Si , aluminum Al , and iron Fe. The organic carbon controlled colloidal P saturation, which in turn affected the P carrier ability of colloids. Field-scale organic carbon inputs did not change the overall morphological trends in size fractions of water-dispersible colloids.

Adivasi is the collective term for tribes of the Indian subcontinent , who are considered indigenous to places within India wherein they live, either as foragers or as tribalistic sedentary communities. They comprise a substantial minority population of India, making up 8. Adivasi studies is a new scholarly field, drawing upon archaeology, anthropology, agrarian history, environmental history, subaltern studies, indigenous studies, aboriginal studies, and developmental economics. It adds debates that are specific to the Indian context.
If the total fresh water available on the earth remains pollution free, it is sufficient to meet the drinking water needs of the existing population of the world, unfortunately a large portion of fresh water does not remain fit for use of the living world due to increasing economic activities, urbanization etc. Oceanic water in the form of ecological system of seas is an important environmental system, but during the last century pollution has spread in large proportions. Surface water is mainly found in rivers and lakes and underground water is found under land at different depths, but which have become polluted. Large cities located on banks of rivers are directly disposing off different wastes without treatment in rivers.
